Walt and Ruth Reisner started Trans Am Ambulance Services in 1982 to supplement and assist emergency medical services. Trans Am collaborates with local medical transportation companies and health care facilities to fill critical needs in the market.
For more than 30 years, the Reisner family and the Trans Am staff have provided the highest quality ambulance service to Cattaraugus County and the Village and Town of Cuba in Allegany County in west Upstate New York. The company also serves customers in McKean and Potter counties in northwestern Pennsylvania.
Every Trans Am medical vehicle is staffed with highly skilled certified paramedics and EMTs who are trained in the latest lifesaving technology and emergency protocols. Trans Am ambulances are stocked with the latest equipment, including cardiac monitoring systems.
In 2015, our STEMI, or ST elevation myocardial infarction, response was honored with the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Silver award for achieving efficient, effective cardiac response more than 75 percent of the time. In these extreme cardiac incidents associated with a high risk of death and disability, time is critical, and efficient response saves lives.
Our advanced life support intercept vehicles that meet ambulances in the field are staffed with specially trained critical care paramedics and have equipment and medications required for a higher level of care.
Trans Am leadership and staff are integrally connected to the fabric of the community. We understand that we serve the community best when we support causes and events that matter to those who live here.
Trans Am Ambulance Services is a regional branch of the national Priority Ambulance network.
