Priority Ambulance has promoted Eric Messer to vice president of operations to serve its ambulance contract with Baptist Memorial Health Care facilities and oversee operations in its Alabama footprint.

Priority Ambulance began serving the facilities in the greater Memphis area on April 1 and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville on June 1 using Baptist-branded vehicles. In his new role, Messer will oversee daily operations of the ambulances that serve the Baptist Memphis area hospitals, as well as Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville and Prentiss County.

“As our ambulance provider partner, Priority Ambulance has become an extension of our team,” said Katie Morrissette,

Baptist Memorial Health Care system administrator of telehealth. “Eric’s professionalism and expertise will help ensure that our patients receive exceptional care during medical transport to and from our facilities and that EMTs’ and paramedics’ performance always reflects Baptist’s commitment to excellence. He understands the true definition of customer service and goes above and beyond to communicate with all levels of Baptist from our emergency department staff and case managers to our senior leadership.”

“Eric is a rising star within our organization, and we were pleased to be able to promote him to a new leadership role in West Tennessee and Mississippi,” said Priority Ambulance CEO Bryan Gibson. “For our contract with Baptist, we knew we needed a strong leader to ensure that we are attracting the best local talent and providing the top level of customer service. Eric excels in these areas and will inspire our operational management team to excellence.”

Messer has worked for three years as Director of Marketing for Priority Ambulance’s Birmingham operation, managing a team of marketing managers to expand the company’s service area and to serve as the lead customer service agent with hospitals and facilities.

Prior to joining Priority, Messer was director of marketing for Rural/Metro and Lifeguard ambulance services in central Alabama for 13 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Jacksonville State University.
