NATIONAL EMS TRAINING ACADEMY

The National EMS Training Academy was designed by experience EMS professionals to provide the highest quality of education and training for not only its employees and other healthcare professionals, but individuals interested in a career in EMS.

As part of our training effort, National EMS offers free regular, accelerated EMT courses to those interested in beginning an EMS career with National EMS.

EMT- Basic Course – Athens, GA – September 30, 2020

The National EMS Training Academy and our sister company, Central EMS, are proud to present a FREE accelerated 8-week EMT class beginning September 30 in Athens, Georgia, in partnership with Adaptive Training Consultants . To remove any barriers to accessing your new career in EMS, we are also offering a limited number of positions with a training wage for classroom hours and full benefits package.  

We are seeking driven, dedicated candidates interested in taking the first step to join the emergency medical services industry. Your EMT certification is the first step in a career in EMS or can be a steppingstone to careers in public safety and health care.

Upon graduation and passing of the EMT exam, students will be guaranteed a position in Athens or Metro Atlanta.

How much does it cost?

  • FREE tuition & certification fees (National Registry, Georgia) to all candidates who pass with a one-year employment commitment.
  • A limited number of paid stipends are available: $10/hour wage for classroom hours  + benefits package with a two-year commitment.
  • Upon passing the exam, EMTs are guaranteed positions in the Athens or Atlanta metro area making up to $30,000 a year with room to grow up to $45,000 with additional shift-friendly, company-sponsored paramedic class!

*Acceptance into the class is subject to background check and motor vehicle records screen.

How do I apply?

Step 1: Fill out an application using our online form. 

Step 2: Register for and attend a mandatory two-hour interview session and aptitude test on either Monday, September 14 or Tuesday, September 15. Registration is included in the online application form.

Course Description:

Our EMT Course follows the National Standard Curriculum as defined by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (www.nremt.org). This course has been approved through the Georgia State Office of EMS and Trauma. Upon successful completion of our program, you will have the necessary skills and knowledge to pass both the cognitive and psychomotor exams required by NREMT. Central EMS will cover costs of National Registry and Georgia EMT certifications. All of your clinical 3rd rides will be completed on our 911-Advanced Life Support and BLS Ambulances. Being able to provide you real-life emergency experience is what sets our programs apart from others. You will be actively engaged and challenged to be a part of “our team”.

When are classes?

40-hour weekly schedule (includes 80 total clinical hours); Mon.-Fri., 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Begins Wed., Sept. 30 for 8 weeks.

Requirements by the end of the class:

  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have a High School diploma or GED
  • Be 18 years of age (by the end of the class on November 30, 2020)
