Patients in home health care facilities, assisted living, nursing homes or hospital care can require medical attention and monitoring during travel. For medically necessary pre-scheduled transport, Central EMS works with individual patients and health care facilities to ensure our service matches each patient’s needs. Our well-trained, caring professionals are certified emergency medical technicians or paramedics and will transport you with professionalism and a friendly smile. Our goal is to make your trip as comfortable and safe as possible.
We offer several levels of service:
Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance services are designed for nonemergency interfacility transportation between hospitals, assisted living facilities or nursing homes and private homes, and pre-hospital response for ill or injured patients. Each unit is staffed with two compassionate, licensed professionals and equipment for medical monitoring, oxygen administration or oral suctioning.
The Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance units have a minimum of one paramedic on a two-member team. They are able to administer certain medications, and the ambulances have equipment for more extensive medical monitoring, including EKG monitoring, advance airway management or medical administration. Each ambulance is stocked with the latest in lifesaving equipment to ensure that you or your loved one receives the best available medical transport care.
Our critical care ambulances are equipped with the latest lifesaving emergency technology to handle any situation that may arise when transporting critically ill patients. The paramedics who staff these vehicles have at least three years of experience handling critical care patients and are specially trained to administer the required level of care. These ambulances often are used for transportation between hospitals and medical facilities for specialized treatment or procedures. Our staff provides the best emergency treatment possible from the moment we arrive to when we return the patient to a physician’s care.
Central EMS actively seeks partnerships with municipalities, counties and agencies to provide around-the-clock emergency 911 coverage. Our local management teams have extensive experience in overseeing emergency operations and are experts when it comes to protecting families, friends and neighbors. Central EMS will work with local first responders and government agencies to customize services and ensure every community we serve has the best possible level of care. Cental EMS is the current exclusive emergency services provider for Forsyth County in the north Metro Atlanta area.
Central EMS partners with Central Air Ambulance for any air ambulance needs. For more information, visit Central Air Ambulance’s website.
Patients with behavioral health concerns often require transportation from professionals with specialized training to ensure safe access to needed services. Our customer service representatives are available to help identify the correct level of service and care to meet the medical and behavioral health needs of any patient.
Central EMS works with nonprofit organ and tissue recovery organizations to provide transport services to patients in need of transplant services, surgical procurement teams and lifesaving organs. More than 120,000 people are on an organ transplant waiting list in the United States, so when an organ becomes available, time is critical. Our partner, Central Air Ambulance, also is available to work with our Central EMS ground team to ensure that patients receive lifesaving organs as quickly as possible wherever and whenever they become available.
When a child has a critical illness or injury, Central EMS has the training and equipment in place to provide top-quality medical care to every child and adolescent. Every Central EMS team member is certified in pediatric emergency medicine, and our state-of-the-art emergency vehicles are stocked with lifesaving medical equipment specially designed for newborns, children and adolescents. Central EMS staff members have extensive experience and certifications in caring for and transporting children to ensure that all young patients have the highest level of clinical care from the moment they are placed in our ambulance to when they are delivered into a physician’s care.
When our community experiences a state of emergency, our team stands ready to provide any assistance necessary. Central EMS participates in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) disaster response network and commits vehicles, health care expertise and space needed to address an emergency situation. Our ambulances, air ambulances and personnel are available to protect our community and assist, in conjunction with state and local governments, with patient care or evacuation.
