The Central EMS Education Center is a resource available to current employees for continuing education and new certifications, as well as to individuals looking to enter the emergency medical services field. Central EMS is one of the only ambulance companies in the state to have its own in-house education department and school that offers courses in EMT certification, paramedic certification, critical care, pediatric care and more throughout the year.

Education Center Instructor
Larry Vandergriff has more than 40 years of experience working in and teaching emergency medical services. A highly respected and credentialed instructor, Vandergriff is certified as an EMT and paramedic instructor. He is a certified instructor with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) at levels one and two and is also a National Registry Representative who oversees the administration of the NREMT examinations. Vandergriff’s additional instructor certifications include BLS, PALS, ACLS, ACLS-EP, EPC, PEPP, GEMS, ITLS, PHTLS, ASLS, AMLS, CCEMTP and CCP-C. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Cambridge College in Georgia. In 1998, Vandergriff was named Emergency Medical Services Instructor of the Year by the Region I EMS Association.
