Central EMS is one of the largest privately owned ambulance providers in the Southeast. The company was founded in 1982 as Central Ambulance with the belief that the public deserves high-quality patient care and excellent customer service in an ambulance provider, while still remaining cost-effective. That commitment to quality remains.
In 2004, the company expanded to include Central Air Ambulance and was rebranded as Central EMS. Today, Central EMS transports approximately 50,000 patients annually with more than 100 vehicles in our fleet. The company specializes in ambulance transport service between hospitals and other health care facilities, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities and long distance transports, as well as contracts for special event medical coverage.
At Central EMS, we believe the greatest strength of our company is our local, skilled and dedicated staff. Central EMS currently employs more than 340 EMTs, paramedics and communication and billing specialists. Our employees are on the ground every day to ensure we continue to raise the bar on medical transport for our patients. Our employees live in the communities they serve and are committed to providing the highest level of clinical care to residents, neighbors, friends and family.
