BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance services are designed for nonemergency inter-facility transportation between hospitals, assisted living facilities or nursing homes and private homes, and pre-hospital response for ill or injured patients.
Each unit is staffed with two compassionate, licensed professionals.
ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT
The Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance units have a minimum of one paramedic and one emergency medical technician. They are able to administer certain medications, and the ambulances have advanced equipment for ill or injured patients.
Each ambulance is stocked with the latest in lifesaving equipment to ensure that you or your loved ones receive the best available medical transport care.
Shoals Ambulance’s critical care ambulances are equipped with the latest lifesaving emergency technology to handle any situation that may arise when transporting critically ill patients. The paramedics who staff these vehicles have undergone specialized training in handling critical care patients and are certified to administer the required level of care. Our staff provides the best emergency treatment possible from the moment we arrive to when we return the patient to a physician’s care.
Shoals Ambulance has the only critical care ambulance in Northwest Alabama and a portion of Southern Tennessee. It operates its critical care program in partnership with the Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. The specialized vehicles act as a mobile intensive care unit and are large enough to carry a critical care paramedic, registered nurse and respiratory therapist.
